Fluorescent Bulb Recycling

Fluorescent light bulbs contain the nerve toxin mercury, a silver-colored, shiny, liquid metal, that can be harmful to human health if inhaled or ingested. ACDEM offers a household fluorescent bulb recycling program to Allen County residents free of charge.

Only fluorescent light bulbs up to 8 ft. in length, CFLs, and LEDs are accepted at our business partner sites and Household Hazardous Waste Facility.

To learn the appropriate cleanup protocol after breaking a fluorescent bulb, call ACDEM's Household Hazardous Waste Facility at 260-449-4433 or Indiana Poison Control Center at 800-222-1222.
